Welcoming the Unusal
It's always been a delightful feeling to know that I have given a chance to experience another Ramadhan - considering that 2020 has shown us enough to experience. This unusual Ramadhan, hopefully, will still able to carry blessedness and joy around us, when we least expect it.
Known as the trial year, 2020 has shocked and cornered us in the most possible way. We were afraid, worried, and seemed difficult to simply 'feel' again. It's nearly entering mid of the year, yet we are still clueless about what the next thing Corona will possibly bring.
And then, Ramadhan comes. The virus may be stepping into the top podium in the world order now, which seemingly can eliminate the essence of culture to welcome this holy month. As we will go through this Ramadhan, differently, I think there will still be silver linings for us to contemplate.
During these sensitive moments, we are now facing one single threat with different levels of capacity. For me, Ramadhan certainly becomes one moment to reach one and another. It is no less of a journey of self-discovery. Chance to purify ourselves, to find calm and serenity after a long wrestle with the bustle of the world. To find true peace by enhancing the chance to forgive others.
A moment to redefine blessing.
Without question, this Ramadhan surely will be different due to the pandemic - which instantly prohibits us to gather, for doing worship, or simply remain to stay in touch physically. Nevertheless, naturally, Ramadhan always carries a different feel compared to other months. As we reminded to stay low and remain grateful, Ramadhan is indeed a journey of self-empowerment each of us should be thankful for. An opportunity to feel content by having enough. The moment is still worth embracing. It indeed provides us one unique momentum to have a better and clearer vision about the meaning of blessing.
We are not less fortunate than others with the health we have.
We are not less fortunate for still having a job.
We are not less fortunate for being well fulfilled with the foods in our refrigerator, entertainment in our gadgets, and lovely people in our homes.
